American Dreams
After finishing 7 visual effects shots for American Dreams, Raamw3rk is now doing fully digital color grading and finishing for this project. The director was not completely happy with the film-transfer that was rushed for the premiere, and after a lot of wasted time at a different post-house the project was brought to Raamw3rk.Raamw3rk is doing a full DI (digital intermediate) at 1920×1080 including grain removal and color grading. We will also provide MPEG compression and DVD authoring services.
Hersenschimmen
I just finished a last-minute contribution to the video-backgrounds for ‘Hersenschimmen’ (Out of Mind), a performance by Ro Theater - directed by Guy Cassiers.Hersenschimmen is the story of Maarten Klein, retired secretary of a maritime organisation, who looks all set to enjoy his old age in peace with his wife. That is, until his brain begins to deteriorate. Slowly Maarten loses his memory to Alzheimers.
Waanzee created video backgrounds for this project. The workload and deadlines were so tight in the last two weeks before the premiere, that I was asked to jump in and created the flashbacks that Maarten encounters.
The resulting animations are short, discomforting bursts of memories, resulting from a malfunctioning brain.
The images were projected on three screens. The animations were created at 2304×576 and then divided into three PAL streams. In a timespan of one week we created around 7 10-second animations.
American Dreams
Raamw3rk congratulates Eelco Ferwerda and Selwyn Films with the premiere of American Dreams, at the 2006 International Film Festival in Rotterdam (IFFR)This 10′ short film was funded as part of ‘Kort Rotterdams’.
Raamw3rk was originally chosen to produce three visual effects shots for American Dreams, but during postproduction it became clear that another 4 shots needed work.
American Dreams was shot on Sony HDCAM in 25p. All effects and processing took place at 1920×1080, in 16-bit up to 32-bit floating point where necessary.
